A.1 Server Information

The following is specified for Express as server information.

This information is for ETERNUS Disk storage system only.

Table A.1 Server configuration information

Item	Description
Name	This is a server name. You can enter a maximum of 16 one-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols. However, the symbols of percent (%) at the head of a name, backslash (\), question (?) and comma (,) are unusable. Server host name and computer name should be unique within a storage system.
Alias	Apart from server name, this is a name easy to understand "what operation is in progress on this server". You can enter a maximum of 16 one-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols. However, the symbols of percent (%) at the head of a name, backslash (\), question (?) and comma (,) are unusable.
HBA Type	This is a HBA type of server and disk storage system. Select any of the following. FC iSCSI SAS However, use the same HBA type within 1 server.
Host ID1	This is a host identifier of HBA, which is any of the following. host WWN(World Wide Name) iSCSI name and IP address SAS address Select the Host ID from a list displayed by Express when the [Discover] button is pressed, or enter it manually. To find the Host ID, refer to HBA manuals. For FC connection: Select host WWN(World Wide Name) name. For iSCSI connection: Select iSCSI name and IP address. IP address can be omitted. For SAS connection: Select SAS address. Host ID 2 is not a required item. Enter it only when you use 2 HBAs.

Note

When Host ID of iSCSI is selected from the pull-down list, iSNS server setting is required in advance.
To set iSNS server, please refer to manual of the disk storage system.

When server HBA information on the composition of iSCSI connection is registered to Express, it is necessary to enter IP address, if firmware version of ETERNUS disk storage system is less than V10L40. When IP address of server HBA is changed, please change HBA information of Express.

If firmware version of ETERNUS disk storage system is V10L40 or later, IP address can be omitted. When IP address is omitted, though it will not be necessary to set again even if IP address of the server HBA is changed, only 1 group of volumes (Affinity Group) can be connected for the iSCSI Name of the HBA.

Moreover, please do not enter IP address of HBA information on the server when corresponding to all of the following conditions.

1. The firmware version of ETERNUS disk storage system is V10L40 or later.

2. Express manages the system that with the ETERNUS disk storage system of iSCSI model has already been composed.

3. IP address of the host information that is registered on the ETERNUS disk storage system of 2) is omitted (It is displayed as "*").

4. The host information of 3) is equivalent to HBA information of the server that is registered on Express.

If it is corresponding to all the above-mentioned conditions, and if IP address is entered, volume information that is connected with the server will not be correctly displayed.

Please check the host setting of ETERNUS disk storage system using ETERNUS Web GUI in advance.
