ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager 14.2 Installation and Setup Guide

11.1.2 Notes on Uninstall

11.1.2.1 Notes before Uninstall

11.1.2.1.1 About backup directory

The backup directory must be saved before uninstall is performed if the backup directory needs to be used for migration or similar after uninstall is executed. To save the backup directory, use the resource backup command. For details of the resource backup command, see "swstresback (Resource backup command)" in "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide."

The following circumstances will require saving the backup directory:

11.1.2.1.2 About repository

The repository of AdvancedCopy Manager must be deleted before the manager of AdvancedCopy Manager is uninstalled. An uninstall error occurs if the repository has not been deleted.

11.1.2.1.3 Cluster operation

Under cluster operation, the user must delete the environment of all AdvancedCopy Manager Storage server transactions and Storage Management server transactions created at the node being uninstalled.

If the storage management server operates in a cluster, deleting Storage Management server transactions deletes the repository. Therefore, the AdvancedCopy Manager uninstall tasks need not include DB unsetup.

11.1.2.1.4 When Exchange database backup operation has been performed

If AdvancedCopy Manager is to be uninstalled in an environment where an Exchange database backup operation has been performed, some operations must be performed before starting the uninstall.

For details of the operations, see "Backing up and Restoring Exchange Databases" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide".

11.1.2.2 Notes on Uninstall

11.1.2.2.1 About account for uninstall

For uninstallation, the user must belong to the "Administrator's" group.

11.1.2.3 Notes after Uninstall

11.1.2.3.1 About directory after uninstall

When Symfoware is installed by the Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager, there may be Symfoware resources remaining in the directory after uninstalling the Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager. Before deleting the directory, Symfoware must be uninstalled using the [Add or Remove Programs] window.

However, Symfoware must be uninstalled only after confirming that no other products (such as Systemwalker Centric Manager, or similar) are using it. If both Symfoware Server and Symfoware Client are installed, then uninstall Symfoware Client first.

AdvancedCopy Manager resources will remain in the install destination directory even after AdvancedCopy Manager is uninstalled. Save all files under environment-settings-directory\etc, then use Explorer or similar to delete the AdvancedCopy Manager resources.
