Log on as the user with the Administrator's authority on the system for the AdvancedCopy Manager installation.
When installing the AdvancedCopy Manager in a backup domain controller (BDC), specify an existing user. If a new user is specified, it may be impossible to install the AdvancedCopy Manager because a new account is not immediately registered.
If reinstallation is required, it should be done as follows:
When the Agent of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed in the system where the Agent of AdvancedCopy Manager has been previously installed
When the Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager is installed in the system where the Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager has been previously installed
When the Manager and Agent of AdvancedCopy Manager are both installed in the same system.
When the Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager or Agent of AdvancedCopy Manager is reinstalled in the system where the Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager has been previously installed, the DB Unsetup process must be executed beforehand.
If the DB Unsetup processing has not been executed, reinstallation cannot be performed.
For details of the DB Unsetup processing, refer to "Database unsetup" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide".
If AdvancedCopy Manager has already been previously installed, it will be uninstalled.
After the older version has been uninstalled, restart the system and reinstall by issuing the install instruction for AdvancedCopy Manager.
If installing AdvancedCopy Manager on the system into which SystemWalker/StorageMGR is installed, the message "The SystemWalker/StorageMGR product has already been installed" is displayed and the attempt will abort with an error.
When installing AdvancedCopy Manager on the system on which SystemWalker/StorageMGR has been installed before, be aware that since OS remembers the former icon, the icon of [DB setup tool] is displayed as StorageMGR.
The following steps are needed in order to display the icon of AdvancedCopy Manager.
[Start] -> [program] -> [AdvancedCopy Manager] of a start menu is chosen, and a right click is carried out on [DB setup].
Choose [property] and click the [shortcut] tag in the dialog displayed.
Click [change of icon] button and choose the icon of AdvancedCopy Manager.
Click the [OK] button if correct.
