5.2.1 Releasing virtual targets

You must release the assigned physical disks from the virtual target as described below.

  1. Activate the "Assign/Release Virtual Disk" dialog using one of the following methods:

    • Select the virtual target assigned with the virtual disk from the Composition Data tree area, then click the <Assign/Release Virtual Disk> button, or

    • Select the virtual target assigned with the virtual disk, then click [Operations] - [Virtual Disk] - [Assign/Release], or

    • Right-click the virtual target assigned with the virtual disk, then click "Assign/Release Virtual Disk".

  2. The "Assign/Release Virtual Disk" dialog box then appears.

  3. Perform the following in the "Assign/Release Virtual Disk" dialog box.

    1. Select the virtual disk(s) that you want to release from the selection in the "Virtual Disk Assignment Information" table.

    2. Select the <Release> button.

      • All virtual disks can be selected by clicking the <Select All> button.
        When all the virtual disks are selected, they can be released by clicking the <Clear> button.

    3. The "Virtual Disk Information" table then displays the list of virtual disks released.

    4. Click the <OK> button on the "Assign/Release Virtual Disk" dialog box.

  4. The "Assign/Release Virtual Disk" confirmation dialog then appears. Click the <OK> button.

  5. The "Assign/Release Virtual Disk" dialog displays the result of releasing the virtual disks from the virtual target. Click the <Close> button.

  6. Confirm on the display and the creation screen that the virtual disks have been released from the virtual target.

    All virtual disks are now successfully released from the virtual target.
