2.4.6 Explanation of LT120 Tape Library Traps

Event traps are messages reported from a device. If you have any questions about the message contents, refer to the instruction manual for hardware to take corrective actions.

Depending on the event level, the corresponding icon may turn red (Error) or yellow (Warning).
(In case of the level "Information," the icon color is not changed.)

Event display:
"()" indicates a trap code.

The tape drive is having problems reading data. No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the performance of the tape.

Read Data Error(1)

The tape drive is having problems writing data. No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the capacity of the tape.

Write Data Error(2)

The operation has stopped because an error has occurred while reading or writing data which the drive cannot correct.

Your data is at risk:
1. Copy any data you require from this tape.
2. Do not use this tape again.
3. Restart the operation with a different tape

The tape is damaged or the drive is faulty. Call the tape drive supplier helpline.
