2.1.1 Components of Systemwalker Desktop Patrol

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol consists of the following components.

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS (Corporate Server)

This server defines contents distribution operation policies and inventory information collection policies, and takes charge of the services of distributing to each PC.

The server (Web GUI) provides services from the Web browser of distributing security patches, security audit and license management based on the database in which organizational information such as information (IT repository), personnel, and organization of IT assets is saved. Normally, one unit is installed in a company.

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol MC (Management Console)

This is a MC used for managing contents to be distributed and defining operation policies.

This function starts "MC window" from the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol MC" and sets respective policies for the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" and the "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS".

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol DS (Domain Server)

This server provides services of relaying/storing operation policies, inventory information and contents to be distributed.

It is installed for the purpose of load distribution. It is effective when the client is at a remote location and the line is slow or a large capacity of content is distributed.

Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT (Client Terminal)

This is a Client Terminal for management. This is installed in the PC that manages assets through inventory collection. The "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" allows the downloading of contents and the receiving of security patches.

Web GUI

This is an operating view used for employing the services from the Web browser provided by "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS", and performing Systemwalker Desktop Patrol operation.

In addition, operating policies of "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CT" can be set.

"Desktop Patrol Main Menu" and "Desktop Patrol Download Menu" are included in the Web GUI.

Systemwalker Desktop Integrated Console

The console starts management windows of Systemwalker Desktop Patrol and other Systemwalker Desktop series via unified view.

"Systemwalker Desktop Integrated Console" can be operated on PC installed with "Systemwalker Desktop Patrol CS" and "Systemwalker Desktop Integrated Console".

Live Help Expert (for Standard Edition only)

This software enables you to remotely control "Live Help Client". With this software, you can directly connect to the PC of the client user to provide assistance when the client user is in trouble with operation of the PC.

Live Help Client (for Standard Edition only)

This software receives remote operation from "Live Help Expert". The PC of the client user who needs help is imported to application server by remote operation. The client computer can be supported by remote operation from "Live Help Expert" when the client user "cannot deal with the message on the screen" or "does not know how to operate the application".
