D.4.2 The Size of Sorter Log Files

The formula for estimating the size of sorter log files is shown below.

Definition unit

Variable elements

Size (bytes)

The size of sort or aggregation process log file

  • The number of sort or aggregation API that are executed
  • The number of sorters that arerunning

(450 x The number of sort or aggregation API that are executed) / The number of sorters that are running

The size of log file for executing commands

The number of commands that are executed (*1)

250 x The number of commands that are executed

*1) The number of the starting and stopping processes for sorter.

Example Calculation

An example calculation for the size of a sorter log file is shown below.

If the variable elements are as follows:

The size of sort or aggregation process log file

(450 x 10,000) / 2 = 2,250,000 bytes (approx. 2.3 MB)

The size of log file for executing commands

250 x 5 = 1,250 bytes
