4.1.3 Under Linux

This section describes the installation procedure for a Linux application server.

The following two installation methods are available:

• Installation from the GUI
• Installation without the GUI

A superuser must perform the installation.

Installation from the GUI

The procedure for installing Shunsaku APIs from the GUI is explained below.

• In an X Window system environment, the screen size must be set to XGA (1024x768) or higher.
• Specify "C" for the LANG environment variable.

1. Start the Shunsaku install script (install.sh).

   For RHEL-AS4(x86)/ES4(x86)

   # mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom
   # cd /media/cdrom/redhat
   # ./install.sh

   For RHEL-AS3(x86)/ES3(x86)

   # mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
   # cd /mnt/cdrom/redhat
   # ./install.sh

   In the dialog displayed after executing this script, click the Install button.

2. In the Select Setup type dialog, select Custom, then click the Next button.
3. In theChoose components to install dialog, select the API function, and click the Next button.

4. In the Confirm Setup Information dialog, if the settings are correct, click the Next button. The installation process will then begin.

5. After the installation completes, in the Result of Package installation dialog, click the Next button to save the installation log.

6. Ensure that the Save installation log checkbox has been selected in the Output Install Log dialog, then specify the Output destination directory and click Finish.

Installation without the GUI

The installation procedure when the GUI is not used is explained below.

1. Start the Shunsaku install script (cmdinstall.sh).

   For RHEL-AS4(x86)/ES4(x86)

   # mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom
   # cd /media/cdrom/redhat
   # ./cmdinstall.sh

   For RHEL-AS3(x86)/ES3(x86)

   # mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
   # cd /mnt/cdrom/redhat
   # ./cmdinstall.sh

2. Select the installation method by entering 2 and pressing ENTER.

3. Select the function to be installed by entering 2 and pressing ENTER.

4. Enter "y" and press ENTER to start the installation process using the displayed information.

           FJSVshnsk FJSVshnap 
   
   
   Do you want to proceed with the installation ? [y,q]:

   The installation process will start.

   Installation of packages has started.
   
       Installation of <FJSVshnsk> was successful. 
               : 
   Installation of packages has ended.

   If there is a processing error, the following message will be displayed, and the installation process will be terminated.

   Installation of "Interstage Shunsaku Data Manager Enterprise Edition" was terminated.

   If installation was successful, a message will be displayed indicating that the installation process has completed. An installation log will be created in "/opt/FJSVshnsk/setup.log".

   Installation of "Interstage Shunsaku Data Manager Enterprise Edition" was successful.
