Refer to the TSM PRIMECLUSTER Application Guide for information about the TSM cluster settings for the Solaris edition of PRIMECLUSTER
The following procedures perform a setup on a primary node (cluster node 1).
A setup of the TSM server on the primary node
A setup of the TSM client on the primary node
For the TSM client on the primary node by referring to "A setup of the TSM server in the cluster node 1" and "TSM client settings for cluster nodes" in "If the TSM server is in an active/standby configuration" of the TSM PRIMECLUSTER Application Guide.
The following key points relate to the TSM cluster settings required for tape server transactions
The following setup commands are executed in a setup of the TSM server on the cluster node 1.
# cd /opt/tivoli/tsm/CLUS # ./tsmclset_safe -k Primary -m mount point of shared disk for TSM -n logical node name -s transaction name |
About other options, it is unnecessary in order to read information from a TSM cluster setup information file.
Please refer to "Preparing the TSM Cluster Setup Information File" about a TSM cluster setup information file.
A special file name must be set for drives on the tape device used by the TSM server on node 1. Refer to item (8) in "TSM server settings on cluster node 1" in "If the TSM server is in an active/standby configuration" of the TSM PRIMECLUSTER Application Guide for information about these settings.
When creating (formatting) the database for the TSM server, set the TSM database size as calculated by the formula in "Capacity of Shared Disks for TSM"
When creating (formatting) the restoration log space, specify a value of 128 (Mbytes) or more. Specify sufficient log space to take into account future changes to backup operations
Refer to "Settings for the client system option file" in "TSM Settings (settings that are made before the automatic startup settings for the daemon are made)"in the ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Tape Backup Installation Guide for information about the content of the TSM client option file
For the TSM client on the secondary node by referring to "A setup of the TSM server in the cluster node 2" and "TSM client settings for cluster nodes" in "If the TSM server is in an active/standby configuration" of the TSM PRIMECLUSTER Application Guide.
Refer to "Registering resources" in "If the TSM server is in an active/standby configuration" of the TSM PRIMECLUSTER Application Guide for information about registering TSM resources on cluster systems.
