This chapter describes starting and stopping a service provided by AdvancedCopy Manager.
Manager of AdvancedCopy Manager consists of the following services:

The following service cannot be a cluster service (application resource):
AdvancedCopy Manager COM Service
Normally, you need not manually start services of AdvancedCopy Manager because they are automatically started when the system is started.
However, you need to manually start a service of AdvancedCopy Manager if:
The startup of the service has failed due to some cause.
The service has been intentionally stopped.
Manually start a service as follows:
Click [Control Panel]->[Administrative Tools]->[Services] to display the service window.
A list of services registered in the system will be displayed. Select a service to be started and click the [Start] button
This section describes how to start the AdvancedCopy Manager services in a cluster system.
In a cluster system already established, the startup types assigned to the services are as follows:

To start a cluster service (application resource) of AdvancedCopy Manager, take the following steps:
Start the cluster administrator.
Set storage management server transactions or storage server transactions online.
To start the non-cluster service (AdvancedCopy Manager COM Service), take the following steps:
Select [Control Panel]-[Administrative Tools]-[Services] to display the [Services] window.
The services already registered in the system are then listed. Select the service you want to start, and then click the [Start] button.
Be sure to start a cluster service (application resource) of AdvancedCopy Manager from the cluster administrator. Do not start it from the [Services] window.
If a cluster service (application resource) stops for some reason, you must take the steps described above to restart it.
Do not change the startup type of a cluster service (application resource) of AdvancedCopy Manager to Automatic.
Services of AdvancedCopy Manager are automatically stopped when the system is stopped. If you need to stop an individual service for some reason, manually stop the service as follows:
Click [Control Panel]->[Administrative Tools]->[Services] to display the service window.
Select a service to be stopped and click the [Stop] button.
The AdvancedCopy Manager services stop automatically when the system stops. However, if you must stop the cluster service for some reason, do so manually.
To stop a cluster service (application resource) of AdvancedCopy Manager, take the following steps:
Start the cluster administrator.
Set storage management server transactions or storage server transactions offline.
To stop the non-cluster service (AdvancedCopy Manager COM Service), take the following steps:
Select [Control Panel]-[Administrative Tools]-[Services] to display the [Services] window.
Select the service you want to stop, and then click the [Stop] button.
Be sure to stop a cluster service (application resource) of AdvancedCopy Manager from the cluster administrator. You cannot stop it from the [Services] window.
