As a rule, operation cannot be guaranteed if a backup tool (such as ntbackup) or backup software (such as Arcserve) is used for full backup or full restore of the operating system. Use the procedure below to back up and restore Systemwalker Operation Manager.
V10.0L20 or later
Use Backup operation environment and Restore operation environment in the Operation Environment Maintenance Wizard provided by Systemwalker Operation Manager.
V10.0L10 or earlier
Use the mpbko backup command and mprso restore command provided by Systemwalker Operation Manager.
If the following conditions are met, you can back up and restore Systemwalker Operation Manager using full backup and restore of the operating system. However, carefully consider and test the procedure before using it.

Systemwalker Operation Manager services are stopped before full backup and full restore of the operating system
The method for backup and restore of the operating system guarantees that the information in the file system is identical before and after the full restore operation
Operation of the operating system is guaranteed after a full restore
If the conditions are not satisfied, you cannot properly back up and restore Systemwalker Operation Manager. Before performing operations, use the Operation Environment Maintenance Wizard provided by Systemwalker Operation Manager to back up the operation environment. If Systemwalker Operation Manager does not operate properly after restore, rebuild the environment in accordance with the normal backup and restore procedure. Refer to "Backing Up or Restoring Operation Environment" in the Installation Guide for information on the procedure.

As a rule, operation cannot be guaranteed if full backup or full restore of the operating system is performed (including cases where backup software such as Arcserve is used for full backup or full restore of the operating system). Use the mpbko backup command and mprso restore command provided by Systemwalker Operation Manager for backing up and restoring Systemwalker Operation Manager.
