G.3.12 Specification Changes in 4.7A00

Specification changes other than new features in the version 4.7A00 of this software are as follows.

G.3.12.1 System Disk Mirroring in RHEL8.6 or Later

When setting up system disk mirroring in RHEL8.6 or later, the path for the special files of the root class created by GDS changes. As a result, the output of OS commands that reference disks or file systems, and logs when mounting the volume of the root class, also change.

• RHEL8.4 or earlier:

  GDS creates a special file /dev/sfdsk/gdssysN (*1).

• RHEL8.6 or later:

  GDS creates a special file /dev/sfdsksysN. GDS also creates a symbolic link /dev/sfdsk/gdssysN to /dev/sfdsksysN.
