7.16.1 I/O Error Due to Node Stop or Network Error

If the node stop or the network error occurs, the disk on another node cannot be accessed. In this case, the I/O error occurs on the disk of another node, and the slice where the I/O error occurs becomes INVALID.

After the node is restarted or the network is restored, the resynchronization copying is executed automatically. The slice of the operating node becomes the copy source and this resynchronization copying copies only the part where the data difference exists between slices.

However, the resynchronization copying which is executed after the following events copies the entire slice.

Note

When an error and restoration occurs repeatedly in the network or in the node, or when I/O error and network recovery occurs consecutively due to off and on failures, the synchronization or resynchronization copy may not be executed automatically.

Information

I/O error on the disk of another node

When the I/O error occurs on the disk of another node that is connected to the netmirror group where the netmirror volume exists, the driver warning messages 22000 to 22010 are not output.
