See below for the procedure of cloning.
Preparation
On the original system, prepare for cloning such as collecting the configuration information of GDS.
Copying the disk data
Copy the disk data of the original system to the disk of the copy destination system.
Copy the data by using software such as SystemcastWizard, which provides the cloning function, or by using the function to copy the disk data such as the copy function of storage.
Setting up the copy destination system
On the copy destination system, change the GDS configuration depending on the hardware configuration.
If the system disk is mirrored on the copy source system, you need to cancel the system disk mirroring once on one of the following systems; the copy source system or the copy destination system.
If you do not want to cancel the system disk mirroring on the copy source system, clone the system disk with the following procedure "a."
For other cases, clone the system disk with the procedure "b."
In particular, it is recommended to take "b." if there are a great number of systems on the copy destination system.
Clone the system disk while mirroring it and then cancel and reconfigure the system disk mirroring on the copy destination system.
In step 3, start the system from an installation CD of OS, and then delete the configuration information of the system disk mirroring on the copy destination system. After that, start the system from the system disk to set up the system disk mirroring.
Clone the system disk after canceling the system disk mirroring once.
In step 1, cancel the system disk mirroring on the original system.
After step 2, mirror the system disk again on the original system.
In step 3, set up the system disk mirroring on the copy destination system.
Take either of the following procedures to clone the disk of the local class.
Copying the whole disk data including the private slice.
Copying only the data of the private slice.
Copying only the data in volume areas.
Not copying the disk data.
Determine the copy range by the software and the specification of the copy function (which areas that can be copied) to use the data copy and by the necessity of copying data of volume areas.
