If WWPN is changed because of a faulty component of a manually embedded device such as an HBA or adapter (CA) is replaced, the replacement device is not automatically detected by this product. Perform the following procedures to set the access path after components of the device are exchanged.
If HBA of Manually Embedded Server Node Is Replaced
Detecting the replaced destination HBA
Adding the HBA to the target server.
On the global navigation tab, click Server.
On the Main pane, click the target server name.
On the Action pane, click Add under HBA.
Register the HBA of replacement destination.
Checking the HBA of replacement destination
On the global navigation tab, click Server.
On the Main pane, click the target server name.
On the Main pane, check that the HBAs of pre-replacement and replacement destination are displayed.
Changing the access path
On the global navigation tab, click Server.
On the Server pane, click Access Path.
On the Main pane, select the target access path checkbox.
On the Action pane, click Modify under Access Path.
Change the access path settings.
Checking the access path changes
On the global navigation tab, click Server.
On the Server pane, click Access Path.
For the replaced destination HBA, check if the access path has been set.
Deleting the pre-replacement HBA
On the global navigation tab, click Server.
On the Main pane, click the target server name.
On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the pre-replacement HBA.
On the Action pane, click Delete under HBA.
Delete the pre-replacement HBA.
Subsequent operation
After configuration change, restart any server node if it does not support the hot system replacement function.
If Adapter (CA) of Manually Embedded Disk Storage System and Manually Embedded Tape Library Is Replaced
Registering the post-replaced adapter (CA) of manually embedded device
For a manually embedded disk storage system
On the manually embedded disk storage system overview screen, click the manually embedded disk storage system name.
On the Storage pane, click Port.
On the Action pane, click Add under Port.
Register the new port.
Check that the new port is displayed on the port overview screen of the manually embedded disk storage system.
For a manually embedded tape library system
On the manually embedded tape library system overview screen, click the manually embedded tape library system name.
On the Storage pane, click Port.
On the Action pane, click Add under Port.
Register the new port.
Check that the new port is displayed on the port overview screen of the manually embedded tape library.
Deleting zoning
On the global navigation tab, click Network.
On the Main pane, click the switch name.
On the Category pane, click Zoning.
On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the WWPN zoning of the manually embedded device.
On the Action pane, click Delete under Zoning.
Delete zoning.
On the zoning overview screen, check that the WWPN zoning of the manually embedded device has been deleted.
Note
If you are not using "one to one" zoning, ensure that other security settings are not affected.
Adding an access path
On the global navigation tab, click Server.
On the Server pane, click Access Path.
On the Action pane, click Add (Other) under Access Path.
Register the access path. For access path definition, select the following:
Port: Port assigned to the new manually embedded device
HBA: HBA logical connection to the manually embedded device
On the zoning overview screen, check that the WWPN zoning of the new manually embedded device has been created.
Deleting the pre-replacement adapter (CA) of manually embedded device
For a manually embedded disk storage system
On the manually embedded disk storage system overview screen, click the manually embedded disk storage system name.
On the Storage pane, click Port.
On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the pre-replacement port.
On the Action pane, click Delete under Port.
Delete the replaced port.
Check that the new manually embedded tape library is not displayed on the manually embedded tape library overview screen.
For a manually embedded tape library
On the manually embedded tape library system overview screen, click the manually embedded tape library system name.
On the Storage pane, click Port.
On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the pre-replacement port.
On the Action pane, click Delete under Port.
Delete the replaced port.
Check that the replaced port is not displayed on the port overview screen.
Subsequent operation
After configuration, restart the server node if it does not support active configuration.
