In this product, the Automated Storage Tiering function of the ETERNUS Disk storage system can be used by registering an optional license (ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Optimization Option). The Flexible Tier Volume (FTV) uses the Automated Storage Tiering function. However, FTV can be created and used without an optional license, by using the one layer Tier pool function explains in this section.
If you register the optional license to use the Automated Storage Tiering in the future, using FTV according to the instruction in this section reduces the work procedure.
Until the option license is registered, FTV is available as a volume that has the Thin Provisioning function.
See
Refer to the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide for Optimization Function for more information on the Automated Storage Tiering function.
