With this product, it is possible to manage the storage device's volume. It is possible to operate with the same operability without being aware of restrictions according to type of storage device and model.
The target device is selected with Web Console, and processing is selected from the Action pane.
The executable operations are as follows:
Create/Delete Volume
Format Volume
Expand Thin Provisioning Volume Capacity
Delete Snap Data Pool Volume
Encrypt Volume
Equalize Thin Provisioning Volume
Enabling/Disabling Extreme Cache(Read)
Enabling/Disabling Thin Provisioning Volume Allocation
Enabling/Disabling FTV Allocation
Note
The number of maximum volumes that can be made with this product at a time is 128. Make them by dividing into two or more times when you make volumes that exceed 128.
The ETERNUS DX S5 series, DX8900 S4, and the ETERNUS AF S3 series have an upper limit for the total capacity of volumes that can be created in a single operation. When creating volumes with a total capacity that exceeds the upper limit, create them in several batches. Refer to the ETERNUS Web GUI User's Guide (Settings) for details.
On Web Console, the following operations cannot be performed:
Delete reservation of Snap Data Pool Volume
Create and format volumes of LUN concatenation
Create, delete and format Wide Striping Volume
Perform those operations with ETERNUS Web GUI.
In this product, the volumes that are used for the Non-disruptive Storage Migration cannot be created. Create the volumes with ETERNUS Web GUI.
