A.1 Backing Up Repository Data (for Windows)

Save the repository data to the specified directory all at once.
Perform this operation on the Management Server (Storage Management Server).

When Pre-Upgrade Environment Is Version 16.0 or Earlier

Note

  • Create a directory in which data is saved in advance.

  • Do not use the telnet server service.
    This operation fails when issued from the telnet server service.

The procedure is shown below:

  1. Click Start > Programs > AdvancedCopy Manager or ETERNUS SF Manager > DB Setup.

  2. The following screen is displayed.
    Click DB maintenance.

  3. The following screen is displayed.
    Click DB backup.

  4. The following screen is displayed.
    Enter a backup directory and click OK.

  5. The following screen is displayed.
    Check that the displayed information is correct and click Start.

  6. The following screen is displayed after the process is completed.
    Click Close.

  7. Click Close displayed in step 3 to complete the DB maintenance.

  8. Click Exit displayed in step 2 to complete the DB backup.

  9. Check that the backup of database has been completed successfully.
    Make sure that the file with ".unl" extension is created in the specified directory.

When Pre-Upgrade Environment Is Version 16.1 or Later

File Name / Directory Name

Explanation

$BAK_FILE

Backup file name for which an absolute path is specified

$INS_DIR

"Program Directory" specified at the ETERNUS SF Manager installation

The procedure is shown below:

  1. Stop the ETERNUS SF Express Tomcat service.

    Open Service Control Manager to stop the following service.

    • ETERNUS SF Manager Tomcat Service

  2. Create backup data.

    1. If you did not change the port number, specify 15432 for portNumber. If you did change the port number, specify the changed port number for portNumber.
      The file name of the created backup data is $BAK_FILE.

      $INS_DIR\Common\sys\postgres\bin\pg_dump -U esfpostgres -a --attribute-inserts -p portNumber -t esccs.\"BASE_\"* -t esccs.\"REP_REPVOL\" -t esccs.\"BR_\"* -f $BAK_FILE esfdb
    2. The prompt is displayed, and waiting for input. Input the following strings.

      master01!

  3. Start the ETERNUS SF Express Tomcat service.

    Open Service Control Manager to start the following service.
