esfadm devconf import - import the configuration information from the previous version
SYNOPSIS
For Windows environments
$INS_DIR\Common\bin\esfadm devconf import -all
($INS_DIR is the program directory specified at the ETERNUS SF Manager installation.)
For Solaris or Linux environments
/opt/FJSVesfcm/bin/esfadm devconf import -all
DESCRIPTION
A request for the configuration information import from the previous version is issued to this product. OS Administrator permissions are required in order to execute the command.
When the command is executed, this product starts asynchronously to import and convert the configuration information from the previous version.
OPTIONS
All configuration information registered at the previous version is imported.
At this version, specify this option.
EXIT STATUS
=0: Completed successfully
>0: Terminated abnormally
EXAMPLES
For Windows environments
> C:\ETERNUS_SF\Common\bin\esfadm devconf import -all esfadm90000 Operation is accepted.
For Solaris or Linux environments
# /opt/FJSVesfcm/bin/esfadm devconf import -all esfadm90000 Operation is accepted.
NOTES
Check that the targeted devices can be accessed from this product before executing this command.
Of the devices that were supported in the previous version, the information for the devices that are not supported in this version is not imported. Refer to "Supported Devices" in the Installation and Setup Guide for information on the supported devices in this version.
Operation is not possible on the targeted devices during the command execution.
When the removed devices are registered in the configuration information at the previous version, the import of configuration information for their devices fails. In this case, the action is unnecessary.
Import time for a storage device is approximately 10 minutes. For an estimate of the total import time, do the following calculation.
[Total import time] = number of storage devices x 10 minutes
The result of the import process is output in the Operation History of Web Console. To try again to import the devices for which the import process has failed, re-execute this command after taking appropriate action for the message of Operation History.
