2.3.46 Recognition Methods for VM Guests

Recognition methods for VM guests have been changed.

16.2 or later

  • In case the VM guest is configured with VMFS

    When a new VM guest is created, and when a VM guest is moved between VM hosts using Storage vMotion or vSphere HA, a Reload Conf. operation is required on the destination VM host.

  • In case the VM guest is configured with a VMware Virtual Volume

    When a new VM guest is created, and when a VM guest is moved between VM hosts using Storage vMotion or vSphere HA, that VM guest is automatically recognized when powered on. At the same time, non-VMware Virtual Volumes VM guests that exist on the VM host are also automatically recognized.

13.4 to 16.1

  • In case the VM guest is configured with VMFS

    When a new VM guest is created, and when a VM guest is moved between VM hosts using Storage vMotion or vSphere HA, the following operation is required on the destination VM host:

    • For version 16.0 to 16.1: Reload Conf.

    • For version 15.0 to 15.3: Register the VM host

    • For version 13.4 to 14.2: Register virtual machines

  • In case the VM guest is configured with a VMware Virtual Volume

    Not supported.
