In the Storage Cruiser Optimization Function, the following features are expanded.
From version 16.0, the ETERNUS DX100 S3/DX200 S3, DX500 S3/DX600 S3 can be used.
According to task priority, task performance can be automatically tuned. The user configures the target value (in milliseconds) as response time of each volume, and the bandwidth is automatically adjusted to match the target value.
Refer to the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide for Optimization Function for details.
By performing the status update of the Automated Storage Tiering, the Tier pool created in the storage device can be used. Additionally, the configuration of the Tier pool embedded in the Automated Storage Tiering can be changed. The details that may be changed are as listed below.
Increase the number of layers with the addition of a sub pool (the number of layers cannot be decreased)
Change of layer level for an already created sub pool (for example, changing from Low sub pool to High sub pool)
Change of the Tiering policy
Change of the sub pool name
Refer to "Setting of Tier Pool" in the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide for Optimization Function for details.
The Tiering policy allows selection of the days of the week for evaluation. Performance data only for the days of the week specified is evaluated. Also, as in the past, specification of the evaluation time frames, narrowing of the evaluation subjects, and configuration of days to exclude from the evaluation are possible. When the specified unit for the evaluation period is "Hour", values of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 may be specified.
Refer to "Setting of Tiering Policy" in the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide for Optimization Function for details.
