2.9.3 Standardizing Systemwalker Operation Manager environment definitions

Some of the information managed by Systemwalker Operation Manager is managed separately on each node. As a result, if changes are made to this information (listed below) on one node, these changes will not be reflected in the other nodes on the cluster system. Accordingly, if this definition information is modified on one node, copy this information to the other nodes so that the active and standby nodes will both have the same information.

Monitored host definition information

When to copy this information:

When changes are made to the monitored host information definitions in the environment settings

How to copy this information:

Use a command such as rcp to copy the following file to the other node:

  • For PRIMECLUSTER (for Solaris or Linux version), Oracle Solaris Cluster

    /var/opt/FJSVJMCMN/etc/monitor_hosts_ex

    /var/opt/FJSVJMCMN/etc/*.mhz

  • For MC/ServiceGuard

    /opt/FHPJMCMN/db/etc/monitor_hosts_ex

    /opt/FHPJMCMN/db/etc/*.mhz

  • For HACMP

    /opt/FAIXJMCMN/db/etc/monitor_hosts_ex

    /opt/FAIXJMCMN/db/etc/*.mhz

Password management book information/host information definitions

When to copy this information:

When users or groups are added or deleted with the password management command, or changes are made to their passwords

When the host information file is created or updated

How to copy this information:

Use a command such as rcp to copy the following file to the other node:

  • For PRIMECLUSTER (for Solaris or Linux version), Oracle Solaris Cluster

    /opt/FJSVsnjss/manage/*.*

  • For MC/ServiceGuard

    /opt/FHPsnjss/manage/*.*

  • For HACMP

    /opt/FAIXsnjss/manage/*.*

Refer to the Systemwalker Operation Manager Installation Guide for the "password management book" and "host information file" definitions of Task Link.

Job folder information

When to copy this information:

When job folders are added

When resources that include job folder information are restored

When policy distribution in the environment settings is performed

How to copy this information:

Use a command such as rcp to copy the directories defined as job folders and all of their contents to the other node:

Note:

There is no need to copy directories specified as job folders if they are on the shared disk.

Web Console definition information

When to copy this information:

When a setting is changed in the Web Console Settings tab.

How to copy this information:

Use a command such as rcp to copy the following files to the other node:

/var/opt/FJSVjmweb/data/*

Note

For N:1 active/standby configuration and dual node mutual standby configuration, the cluster system includes multiple active nodes. In such cases, note the following points:

  • Standardize the monitored host definition information, password management book information, host information definitions, and job folder information for all the active nodes. Information definitions cannot differ between active nodes.
