A.2.1 Cautions on Changing Time

Be sure to read this section before changing date or time.

Prohibition of changing date and time during operation

Do not carry out the following operations when Systemwalker Operation Manager is operating.

If you use NTP (time server) and slew mode (time is gradually adjusted by time progression), it does not matter if Systemwalker Operation Manager is operating.

Before carrying out the operations above, be sure to stop the Systemwalker Operation Manager's services and daemons.

Cautions when adjusting the system time

Do not change the system time while the Jobscheduler is operating. Since the Jobscheduler performs scheduling processing based on the current system time, changes in the system time during operation may cause an execution failure of job nets and operational errors in services and daemons.

Before changing the system time, terminate the Jobscheduler services and daemons.

If the system time and date are set back to the past, the output sequence to the Jobscheduler log files will not be in order in terms of time. As a result, problems such as inaccurate display of Jobscheduler history information or irregular message waiting operation may occur. If the system time and date are set back to the past, clear all the log information that would be output in a chronological manner as described above, then reboot the system.

Specifically, remove the following log files.

Cautions when changing the system year or replacing the motherboard

Prior to changing the system year or replacing the motherboard, carry out the following backup operations. Following completion of the relevant task, restore backed-up files and restart the system (if the system year has been changed, return it to the current year).
