The Excluded Device List (/etc/opt/FJSVsdx/lib/exdevtab file) is a list of disks which are to be excluded from GDS management.
In the Excluded Device List, describe the following disks that are to be excluded from GDS management.
Disks such as native devices (sd devices) which compose multipath disks (mpath devices, emcpower devices)
Physical disks which compose iSCSI devices for the mirroring among servers
Example of the Excluded Device List:
# cat /etc/opt/FJSVsdx/lib/exdevtab
/dev/sde
/dev/sdf
/dev/sdg
/dev/sdh |
Disks described in the Excluded Device List are protected so that they cannot be mistakenly registered with a class.
For the GDS Management View, disks are not displayed in the selection screen.
If an attempt to register a disk with a class by a command, an error message "ERROR: physical_disk_name: no such device" is output.
Note
For PRIMECLUSTER Systems
In a PRIMECLUSTER system, create Excluded Device Lists on all nodes that constitute the cluster.
Devices that cannot be managed with GDS are also nontargets of resource registration, and do not describe these devices in the shared disk definition file. For details on resource registration and the shared disk definition file, see "6.3 Shared Disk Resource Registration."
Note
Device Name Change
When device name change occurs, change the device name described in the Excluded Device List to the name after device name change occurs.
