7.3.2 Error messages

This section explains messages that are output upon error occurrence at executing the cftool command for each option specified to the command.

7.3.2.1 Common to all options

cftool: CF not yet initialized

Content:

CF has not been initialized.

Corrective action:

After starting the CF, execute the command.

7.3.2.2 cftool -c

cftool: failed to get cluster name: #xxxx: service: reason_text

Content:

Getting the cluster name from CF has failed.

Corrective action:

7.3.2.3 cftool -d

cftool: cannot open mconn: #04xx: generic: reason_text

Content:

7.3.2.4 cftool -e

Content:

7.3.2.5 cftool -i nodename

cftool: nodename: No such node
cftool: cannot get node details: #xxxx: service:reason_text

Content:

Either of these messages indicates that the specified nodename is not an active cluster node at this time.

Corrective action:

Specify a currently active cluster node to the argument.

cftool: cannot open mconn: #04xx: generic: reason_text

Content:

Corrective action:

7.3.2.6 cftool -k

cftool(down): illegal node number

Content:

This message indicates that the specified node number is non-numeric or is outside valid range (other than 1-64).

Corrective action:

Specify a value outside valid range (other than 1-64) for the node number.

cftool(down): not executing on active cluster node

Content:

This message is generated if the command is executed either on a node that is not an active cluster node or on the specified LEFTCLUSTER node itself.

Corrective action:

Execute the command on the currently active cluster node.

cftool(down): cannot declare node down: #0426: generic: invalid node name
cftool(down): cannot declare node down: #0427: generic: invalid node number
cftool(down): cannot declare node down: #0428: generic: node is not in LEFTCLUSTER state

Content:

One of these messages will be generated if the supplied information does not match an existing cluster node in LEFTCLUSTER state.

Corrective action:

Correctly specify the cluster node information in the LEFTCLUSTER state.

cftool(down): cannot declare node down: #xxxx: service:reason_text

Content:

Declaring DOWN of the specified cluster has failed because of an internal error.

Corrective action:

This message is generated only when a failure occurs to the CF driver or other kernel components.

7.3.2.7 cftool -l

Content:

7.3.2.8 cftool -m
