Preface

This manual outlines the functions and operation of the Web-Based Admin View. Web-Based Admin View is a common base to utilize GUI (operation management view) with PRIMECLUSTER, and is provided along with each operation management product.

Target Readers

This manual is intended for all the users operating the products with Web-Based Admin View (e.g. PRIMECLUSTER.)

Organization

This manual consists of five parts, Appendices, and glossary. The content of each category is described below. When you use this product for the first time, be sure to read Part 1 first, and then work on the necessary operations.

Part 1 Introduction: Describes the functions and topology of the Web-Based Admin View.

Part 2 Web-Based Admin View GUI screen: Describes how to operate the GUI screen.

Part 3 Web-Based Admin View tools menu: Details the functions provided as the Web-Based Admin View tools menu.

Part 4 Web-Based Admin View operating setup: Details the operation method (e.g. shut-down, restart) and modifies the original settings.

Part 5 Notes on Web-Based Admin View: Describes the notes on Web-Based Admin View.

Appendix A Message: Explains the message texts and corrective actions.

Appendix B Troubleshooting: Explains how to take corrective actions in the event of a failure and collect required data for the request of troubleshooting.

Notational Conventions

Notation

This document adopts the following notational conventions.

Prompts: Command line examples that require system administrator (or root) rights to execute are preceded by the system administrator prompt, the hash sign (#). Entries that do not require system administrator rights are preceded by a dollar sign ($).

Manual page section numbers: References to the UNIX operating system commands are followed by their manual page section numbers in parentheses __ for example, cp(1).

The keyboard: Keystrokes that represent nonprintable characters are displayed as key icons such as [Enter] or [F1]. For example, [Enter] means press the key labeled Enter; [Cntl]+[B] means hold down the key labeled Cntl or Control and then press the [B] key.

Typefaces / Symbol

The following typefaces highlight specific elements in this manual.

Typeface / Symbol	Usage
Constant Width	Computer output and program listings; commands, file names, manual page names and other literal programming elements in the main body of text.
Italic, <Italic>	Variables that you must replace with an actual entered value.
<Constant Width>	Variables that you must replace with an actual displayed value.
Bold	Items in a command line that you must type exactly as shown.
"Constant Width"	The title, documentation, screen, and etc of lookup destination.
[Constant Width]	Tool bar name, menu name, command name, button name, and icon names
