11.5.3 Registering information in host database (When adding node information)

When adding a shared node, register its host name and IP address in host database (for example: /etc/host).

  1. Register the host names and IP addresses of all the shared nodes in host database of the shared nodes to be added.
    You can check the host names of the existing shared nodes with the -n option of sfcinfo(8).

    # sfcinfo -n /dev/sfdsk/gfs01/dsk/volume01 <Enter>
    /dev/sfdsk/gfs01/dsk/volume01:
    FSID  hostID    status  hostname
       1  80a4f75b  STOP    sunny
  2. Resister the host name and IP address of the shared node to be added in host database of the existing shared nodes.

Note

Register the IP address that matches the communication protocol between MDS and AC. You can check the communication protocol with -e option of sfcinfo(8) on the existing shared node.

# sfcinfo -e /dev/sfdsk/gfs01/dsk/volume01 | grep SFCFS_IPV6 <Enter>
SFCFS_IPV6=1

If "SFCFS_IPV6=1" is displayed, the communication protocol is IPv6. If "SFCFS_IPV6=0" or nothing is displayed, the communication protocol is IPv4.
