This section explains how to manage Solaris Zones configured on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC.
In this product, Solaris Zones constructed on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC can be managed.
When managing Solaris Zones constructed on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC, it is necessary to register the guest domain that composes the Solaris zones as a VM host.
The procedure for introduction of this product is as follows.
Install software on the control domain of OVM for SPARC
Install software and the agent of this product on the control domain of OVM for SPARC.
Refer to the following.
Register the server of OVM for SPARC
Register the server of OVM for SPARC.
For details, refer to "5.9 When Using SPARC M10/M12 or SPARC Enterprise" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
Create a global zone on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC
Refer to Oracle manuals.
Install software on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC
Install software and the agent of this product on the control domain of OVM for SPARC.
Refer to the following.

Register the guest domain as a resource
When the guest domain is registered as VM host, non-global zone made on the guest domain is displayed as VM guest.
After it is confirmed that OS of the guest domain starts, it registers as VM host.
Refer to "5.9.3 Registering Guest Domains on Oracle VM for SPARC" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
Registering Resources in Resource Pools
Register the guest domain of OVM for SPARC in the VM pool.
For details, refer to "14.1 VM Host Resources" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
Register network resources
Register network resources in the network pool.
For details, refer to "14.3 Network Resources" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
Register storage resources
The storage resource is registered in the storage pool.
Necessary when performing migration of the non-global zone.
For details, refer to "14.5 Storage Resources" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
Linking to an L-Server
By linking the non-global zone on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC and an L-Server, it is possible to managed the non-global zone on the guest domain of OVM for SPARC as a virtual L-Server, and import it to an L-Platform.
For details, refer to "7.2.3 Importing to L-Platform" in the "Operation Guide CE".
There are cautionary notes regarding operation of this product when the guest domain of OVM for SPARC is registered as a VM host.
