4.2 Activating the Cluster Interconnect

As preparation for setting up CF, execute the following operation:

1. Edit the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX file.

   Edit "ONBOOT" of the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX file as follows:

     ONBOOT=yes

   Note

   ethX indicates a network interface that is used for the cluster interconnect.

   A number is specified in X.

2. Confirm the cluster interconnect.

   Confirm the state of the interface for the interconnect with the following command.

   [RHEL6]

   # ifconfig <relevant interface> 

   If the beginning of the second row output with the above command is not "UP" execute the following command to confirm if "UP," is output.

   # ifconfig <relevant interface> up 

   [RHEL7]

   # ip addr show <relevant interface>

   If the state flag with the above command is not "UP", execute the following command to confirm if "UP" is set.

   # ip link set <relevant interface> up
