5.2.7 Registering Manually Embedded Device

Some devices (such as Managed Servers without an agent, tape units, and NAS devices) cannot be retrieved by device search. Register these devices with this software by using the manual embedding function.

Point

  • The NetApp FAS Series, FAS Series (with clustered Data ONTAP), V-Series, V-Series (with clustered Data ONTAP), and AFF A series are registered as "Other" for the storage type during the registration.

  • For the manually embedded device that is registered as "Other" for the storage type, "Unknown" is displayed in the Storage Type field on the device details screen. Refer to "Display Storage Device" in the ETERNUS SF Web Console Guide for information about how to display the device details screen.

In the case of NetApp FAS Series, FAS Series (with clustered Data ONTAP), V-Series, and V-Series (with clustered Data ONTAP)

Specify an operation mode according to the firmware version number.

The registered operation mode can be viewed on Main pane of the Detail screen.
