In a cluster system, before configuring GDS classes, groups, and volumes, it is required to register shared disk units with the PRIMECLUSTER resource database. The resource database is used to manage information of node and shared disk unit physical connection configuration (how each shared disk unit is connected to each node). GDS recognizes shared disk unit physical connection configuration based on information in the resource database to manage shared disk units.
Note
Shared disk resource registration is necessary also when using the mirroring among servers.
When using the mirroring among servers, register the iSCSI devices that are created in "4.8 Disk Setting for Performing Mirroring among Servers."
Maximum 16 iSCSI devices can be registered.
