Conditions for system disk configuration and settings
The disk label is the GPT type.
The number of slices is 14 or less.
The disk size is smaller than 1 TB.
Sufficient free space.
For details on necessary free space, refer to "2.3.9 Disk Size."
The areas of /, /usr, /var, /boot, and /boot/efi are located in the same disk.
When mirroring the swap area, the swap area must be located in the same disk as well.
The device of the system volumes (/, /var, /usr, /boot, /boot/efi, or swap area) is defined in the /etc/fstab file by the following formats:
device name, LABEL, or UUID
Without LVM (Logical Volume Manager) configuration

System disk mirroring of the following environments is also available.
SAN boot environment
KVM host OS (RHEL6(Intel64), and RHEL7(Intel64) or later)
VMware guest (RHEL6(Intel64), and RHEL7(Intel64) or later)
Note
When mirroring the system disk in SAN boot environment, contact field engineers to check if the environment is supported.
In an iSCSI boot environment, management and mirroring of system disk cannot be done.
When mirroring the system disk in RHEL6 environment, do not modify or add a comment line in /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.conf file.
When mirroring the system disk in RHEL7 environment, do not write GRUB_DISABLE_UUID=true in the /etc/default/grub file.
