General Preconditions
The master and proxy belong to the same class (excepting shadow classes).
The master and proxy belong to different groups or single disks.
The master is not related to any object as its proxy.
To the proxy, no other object is related as its proxy.
Synchronization Snapshot Preconditions
The type of the master and proxy is mirror or single.
To stripe the master or proxy, connect a stripe group to a mirror group and use it as the master or proxy. In this situation, the disk unit's copy function is unavailable.
To concatenate disks to create the master or proxy with a large volume, connect a concatenation group to a mirror group and use it as the master or proxy. In this situation, the disk unit's copy function is unavailable.
OPC Snapshot Preconditions
Between the master and proxy, OPC is available.
To the master and proxy groups, no lower level group is connected.
See also "A.2.23 Using the Advanced Copy Function in a Proxy Configuration" and "A.2.24 Instant Snapshot by OPC."
OPC Snapshot Preconditions (per volume)
The master and proxy volume type must be mirror, single, stripe or concatenation.
When the master volume type is mirror or single, the proxy volume type must be mirror or single.
When the proxy volume type is mirror, the mirroring multiplicity of the proxy volume is 1.
When the master volume type is stripe or concatenation, the following conditions must be met.
The master volume type and the proxy volume type match.
The offset within the groups to which the master volume belongs and the proxy volume belongs do not match.
When the master volume type is stripe, the following conditions must be met.
The stripe width in the stripe groups to which the master volume belongs and the proxy volume belongs match.
The stripe columns in the stripe groups to which the master volume belongs and the proxy volume belongs match
When the master volume type is concatenation, the SDX disks in the concatenation group to which the proxy volume belongs, should be the same order and size as the SDX disks connected to the concatenation group to which the master volume belongs.
OPC Snapshot Preconditions (per group)
The master group and the proxy group are mirror groups.
The layout of the master and proxy groups (offsets and sizes) must be consistent.
