By cooperation with the Advanced Copy function of ETERNUS Disk storage system or TimeFinder and SRDF of Dell EMC storage units, processes such as copying for resynchronization, copying for maintaining synchronization, and recording the portion upgraded while proxies are being parted are performed within the disk units. Therefore, snapshots can be created without imposing loads on the server accessed by the service application, or the SAN (Storage Area Network).
As the operation is identical even when using GDS Snapshot with a disk unit lacking special copy function, there is no need for users to be aware of the differences between disk units.
