3.12 When Using the VMware vSphere 6 or later VM Host, Specific Operations Fail.

Description

When using a VMware vSphere 6 or later VM host, the available memory of the VM pool and the VM host is not correctly calculated.
For this reason, operations may fail when all of the following conditions are satisfied:

Operation	Conditions
Deployment of L-Platforms Starting L-Servers and L-Platforms	A VM guest is operated on a VMware vSphere 6 or later VM host An L-Server is created on the VM host in step a The memory size + overhead memory size of the L-Server in step b is larger than the memory size of the VM host on VMware in step a After creation of the L-Server in step b is complete, it is powered on
Live migration of L-Servers	A VM guest is operated on a VMware vSphere 6 or later VM host An L-Server is operated on a VM host other than the VM host in step a The memory size + overhead memory size of the L-Server in step b is larger than the memory size of the VM host on VMware in step a The L-Server in step b is migrated to the VM host in step a

In this case, the following messages are displayed in the event log.

• When deploying L-Platforms or starting L-Servers and L-Platforms

  FJSVrcx:ERROR:67320:power control error. target=VM_guest detail=(poweron:task result error, vmerrno=104,ip=IP_address)

• When performing live migration of L-Servers

  FJSVrcx:ERROR:67385:migrating VM guest failed. VM_guest_name migrate from source to destination. detail=(VM_guest_name,validate migrate invalid,vmerrno=150,ip=IP_address)

One of the following is displayed in the detailed message.

[ERROR]The available Memory resources in the parent resource pool are insufficient for the operation.

[ERROR]The host does not have sufficient memory resources to satisfy the reservation.

Corrective Action

The infrastructure administrator should perform the following procedure.

1. Check the available memory of the VM host on VMware vCenter Server.

2. Move the L-Server to another VM host that has enough available memory for the corresponding L-Server to operate.
