7.7.4 Enable Encryption Mode

The procedure to enable the encryption mode of an ETERNUS Disk storage system is as follows:

  1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.
    The registered ETERNUS Disk storage systems are displayed on the Main pane.

  2. On the Main pane, click the target ETERNUS Disk storage system.

  3. On the Category pane, click System.
    The items of the Category pane change into the items concerning the system management.

  4. On the Category pane, click Encryption.

  5. Perform the following procedures according to the target storage device model.

    When the Target Storage Device Model Supports the Encryption Mode AES-256
    1. On the Action pane, click Enable/Modify under Encryption Mode.

    2. On the displayed Enable/modify Encryption mode screen, select the encryption mode to be set, and then click Enable.

    When the Target Storage Device Model Does Not Support the Encryption Mode AES-256
    1. On the Action pane, click Enable under Encryption Mode.

There are storage device models that cannot set the encryption mode from Web Console. Refer to "Encryption Mode Management" in the ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Operation Guide for details.
