5.2 Resources Required for the Management Partition

The GFS Shared File System requires, in addition to the volumes that constitute the file system, one GDS Shared volume that is exclusively for the management partition for each cluster system. Even when using two or more file systems, the number of required management partitions is one.

Specify a volume size of at least 40 megabytes for the management partition.

See

For details on how to set up the GDS Shared disk system, see the "PRIMECLUSTER Global Disk Services Configuration and Administration Guide."

Note

When setting the volume in which the management partition is created, specify the shared disk class type for the disk class type to which the volume belongs. For the scope of the disk class to which the volume belongs, specify all the nodes that share the GFS Shared File System. Additionally, set the volume status to become ACTIVE automatically when the node is started.

If the disk class that includes the volume in which the management partition exists is set for the Gds resource of the cluster application by mistake, the volume status does not become ACTIVE automatically when the node is started. In this case, the GFS Shared File System does not work.
