The SPARC Enterprise M4000/M5000/M8000/M9000 and SPARC M10/M12 can be used for multiple nodes by splitting one server into multiple hardware partitions. Using the GFS Shared File System in this configuration allows a file system to be shared between nodes.

Partitions as used here refer to nodes split into multiple nodes through physical partitioning of the system.
