3.5.1 Tentative modification of screen display settings (Language, Look & Feel)

If necessary, Look & Feel of the screen can be changed from Web-Based Admin View.

Changing the Look & Feel

For Look&Feel modifications, select [Web-Based Admin View tool]- [Environment settings], and then change in the [Display setup] property of the [System environment] tab in the Environment setup page.

Changing the Language

Change the language before starting the Web browser.

For Java Runtime Environment 7 update 25 or later, even if the following settings are applied, the available language is only Japanese in the Web-Based Admin View screen.

  1. Set the display format of the control panel to [Large icons] or [Small icons].

    Right-click an empty space on the desktop, and then select [View] - [Large icons] or [Small icons].

  2. Change the client system environment.

    • For Windows(R) 7

      Select [Control Panel] - [Region and Language] - [Formats] tab to change language.

    • For Windows(R) 8.1

      Select [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Region] - [Formats] tab to change language.

    • For Windows(R) 10

      Right-click Start Menu and then select [Control Panel] - [Region] - [Formats] tab to change language.

  3. Set Java Runtime Parameters.

    When changing language to other than Japanese

    • Windows(R) 7

      1. Select [Start] - [Control Panel] - [Java] - [Java] tab - [View].

        Java Runtime Environment Settings screen is displayed.

      2. Select [User] tab of Java Runtime Environment Settings screen and add the following to the Runtime Parameters.

        -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us

    • Windows(R) 8.1

      1. Select [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Java] - [Java] tab - [View].

        Java Runtime Environment Settings screen is displayed.

      2. Select [User] tab of Java Runtime Environment Settings screen and add the following to the Runtime Parameters.

        -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us

    • Windows(R) 10

      1. Right-click Start Menu and then select [Control Panel] - [Region] - [Formats] tab to change language.

        Java Runtime Environment Settings screen is displayed.

      2. Select [User] tab of Java Runtime Environment Settings screen and add the following to the Runtime Parameters.

        -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us

    When changing language to Japanese

    • Windows(R) 7

      1. Select [Start] - [Control Panel] - [Java] - [Java] tab - [View].

        Java Runtime Environment Settings screen is displayed.

      2. Select [User] tab of Java Runtime Environment Settings windows.

        If the following is set to Runtime Parameters, delete it.

        -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us

    • Windows(R) 8.1

      1. Select [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Java] - [Java] tab - [View].

        Java Runtime Environment Settings screen is displayed.

      2. Select [User] tab of Java Runtime Environment Settings screen.

        If the following is set to Runtime Parameters, delete it.

        -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us

    • Windows(R) 10

      1. Right-click Start Menu and then select [Control Panel] - [Region] - [Formats] tab to change language.

        Java Runtime Environment Settings screen is displayed.

      2. Select [User] tab of Java Runtime Environment Settings screen.

        If the following is set to Runtime Parameters, delete it.

        -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us

    Note

    If Java is running when setting Runtime Parameters, restart the program which uses Java after the setting.

    If the program which uses Java is unknown, restart the Windows(R) operating system.
