Virus definition file pre-reading
Before releasing a virus definition file later than that in the software dictionary, you need to define products related to the new virus definition file in the software dictionary. The related products are as follows:
McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
Symantec AntiVirus
TrendMicro OfficeScan
To find the dictionary code suitable to the pre-reading function, browse the virus definition file number of programs in the Virus pattern [Details] work group.
Software working status
Not all products defined in the software dictionary support software working.
Reused security dictionary codes
The number of dictionary codes is limited. The system allocates the reused security patch dictionary codes to new patches.
To prevent the reused dictionary code using the original collection value, you must reset the collection value. The processing of resetting collection value is called license account resetting.
Dictionary codes are used in the following cases:
Security patch auditing/application
When service pack is released and security patches are accumulated, patch auditing/application is not required.
Anti-virus software auditing code
The virus definition file of the anti-virus software and the engine will reuse the dictionary codes during a certain period.
