Through viewing PC information, the status of CT can be confirmed. However, if the collected PC information is not the latest, the latest status of CT cannot be confirmed.
Therefore, when collecting PC information, it is required to grasp the timing of collecting PC information. After grasping the timing information, the latest status of CT can be confirmed when viewing PC information.
Timing of collecting PC information
There are following five types of collection opportunity of PC information, and the collected timing is also different. The collected PC information will be sent after collection.
| Collection Opportunity | Frequency | Collected Timing | Sending Target |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | At installation (Note 1) | Only once after installation | After installation has completed | All information (Note 2) |
2 | Time when client policy is set in schedule | Specified day of a week (specify a day of a week) or Once a day (everyday) | Timing of confirming the first new arrival that exceeds 24 hours (Note 3) | Difference information (Note 4) |
At new arrival confirmation of client policy | When software dictionary has changed (user definition) (Note 3) | |||
When re-collection process (-cl.recollect.inventory on) is specified for CustomPolicy.exe | All information (Note 2) | |||
3 | At automatic installation of security patches | When automatic installation of security patches is performed at new arrival confirmation of client policy (Note 5) | When the last automatic installation of security patch to PC has completed After security patch has been installed, when restart is required and collection will be performed after restart. | Difference information (Note 4) |
4 | When the diagnosis result window of operation settings is displayed | When the diagnosis result window of operation settings is displayed at specified timing after performing the setting to display the diagnosis result window of operation settings in client policy and the setting of selecting Perform Inventory Collection at Display | When the diagnosis result window of operation settings is displayed | Difference information (Note 4) |
5 | During operation action-triggered inventory collection | When operation action-triggered inventory collection is instructed by the administrator | When operation action is performed | All information (Note 2) |
Note 1)
When the registered updater is applied during installation, collect PC information after the PC has been restarted.
Note 2)
Send all information of PC information ((hardware information, software information, program information, user information, software operation status, EXE file information, registry information and file collection) *, security information, power saving information, link with Systemwalker Desktop series and software dictionary version number information).
*It is the time when setting to collect such information in client policy only.
Only the difference part of data changed from the last collection will be sent for software operation status. Considering the load on CPU, when collecting PC information, collection will be performed when the CPU load is lower than 50%. If the CPU load is not lowered after 1 hour, collection will be performed by force.
Note 3)
For the PC that is connected to power on the day, inventory collection will be performed at next confirmation of new arrival.
Note 4)
Hardware information and software dictionary version information are sent even when there is no difference.
Note 5)
When performing new arrival confirmation of client policy, if the software dictionary has changed and security patches are installed automatically, PC information will be collected after automatic installation of security patches.
If the disk capacity information contained in hardware information has changed more than 10% comparing to last inventory collection, it will be collected and sent.
Note 6)
The following settings can be performed.
- Display at logon
- Display at logon and specified time
Remarks. After inventory collection has started, even if logoff, the collection process will be completed.
Flow till PC information has been collected
For the flow till the PC information has been collected, it describes according to the collection opportunity shown below.
Collection at installation
Collection at the time set in schedule
Collection after automatic installation has completed
The summary of collection at CT installation is shown below.
The flow of inventory collection according to schedule is shown below. In addition, the relationship among CS, DS and CT for collecting inventory information within the time frame from power on to power off is described in time series.
The collection condition of PC information is considered as the following settings (the value is the initial value after installation).
[Settings of Client]
