5.3 After the operation of restoring a snapshot for virtual L-Server, the number of disk resources changes. [KVM]

Description

Snapshot of KVM has virtual machine configuration.

The virtual machine configuration contains disk resource configuration(*).

In case that number of disk resource is not the same between the virtual L-Server to restore and the snapshot information, the number of disk resources changes after the operation of restoring a snapshot for virtual L-Server.

(*) This means the following.
Number, type and filepath of qcow2 image files corresponding to disk resources created from virtual storages automatically.
And, number, type and filepath of raw devices or partitions corresponding to disk resources that were created in advance.


Corrective Action

Handle appropriately on VM hosts.

Example

  1. Delete unnecessary qcow2 image files in a shared directory on a NFS server.

  2. Attach again qcow2 image files in a shared directory on a NFS server, raw devices or partitions.

    Refer to the RHEL-KVM manual for how to attach to VM guests.
