18.3.4 When Using Server Virtualization Software

Virtual machines of server virtualization software supported by Resource Orchestrator can be managed as virtual L-Servers in the following cases:

For the server virtualization software supported by Resource Orchestrator, refer to "6.1.2.1 Required Basic Software" and "6.1.2.4 Required Software" in the "Overview".

Server virtualization software supported by this function is as follows:

Note

If the software in "6.1.2.4 Required Software" in the "Overview" is not installed, a new L-Server cannot be deployed on that VM host.

[VMware]
When using VMware, a virtual machine on a VM host which is not managed with VM management software can be linked to an L-Server. Power operations (starting up, stopping, and restarting) and modification of basic information (label/comments) can be performed for the L-Server.

[Hyper-V]
When using Hyper-V, a virtual machine on a VM host which is not managed with VM management software cannot be linked to an L-Server.

[Citrix Xen]
When using Citrix Xen, a virtual machine with no Home Server set cannot be linked to an L-Server.

[OVM for x86 3.x]
When using OVM for x86 3.x, links between a virtual machine and the L-Server on a VM host not managed with the VM management software is not supported.
