Specify the following items.
Configure the network to connect with the NIC used in the L-Server. Clicking the [Add] button displays the [Add a Network] dialog. Select a network resource to connect with the NIC.
The number of NICs that can be configured is 1 to 32.
Select the NIC to use in the L-Server from the selection list. When adding a new NIC or NIC group, select the number displayed as "(Undefined)" from the list. When selecting an already defined NIC, a network resource is added.
When [Function number expansion (Onboard)] is enabled on the [Server] tab, each NIC and functions of the L-Server are associated as follows during physical L-Server creation:
NIC Index | CNA Function |
---|---|
1 | On board CNA physical port 1, function number 0 |
2 | On board CNA physical port 2, function number 0 |
3 | On board CNA physical port 1, function number 1 |
4 | On board CNA physical port 2, function number 1 |
NIC Index | CNA Function |
---|---|
1 | On board CNA physical port 1, function number 0 |
2 | On board CNA physical port 2, function number 0 |
3 | On board CNA physical port 1, function number 1 |
4 | On board CNA physical port 2, function number 1 |
5 | On board CNA physical port 1, function number 2 |
6 | On board CNA physical port 2, function number 2 |
7 | On board CNA physical port 1, function number 3 |
8 | On board CNA physical port 2, function number 3 |
When using rack mount and tower servers managed using VIOM as physical L-Servers, the NIC numbers of those physical L-Servers are associated with the definition numbers defined as LAN or CNA according to "7.1.6 Configuration when Creating a Physical L-Server without Specifying a Model Name in the L-Server Template" in the "Setup Guide CE", and virtual MAC addresses are configured accordingly.
When performing NIC redundancy, check the [Setup redundant NIC] checkbox, and select another NIC pair from the list to make redundant.
Select a network resource to connect.
When [Function number expansion (Onboard)] is enabled, allocate the network resources with the VLAN ID 2 - 4094 for each NIC corresponding to CNA functions. For example, when selecting "2" for [Number of functions per board], allocate network resources for NIC Index 1 - 4. Note that "not connected" cannot be selected as the NIC destination.
It is not possible to allocate network resources with the same VLAN ID using an untagged VLAN for the same CNA port. For example, as NIC index 1 and 3 correspond to the same physical port 1, allocating a network resource with the same VLAN ID 2 causes errors.
Clicking the [Delete] button deletes the selected network.
Clicking the [Change] button displays the [Select a Network Resource] dialog.
If the [OK] button is clicked while a network resource is selected, the network resource to connect is modified.
Specify the IP address to allocate to the L-Server. This should be entered for direct specification of the IP address to be allocated to the L-Server. The specified IP address will be converted to the IP address of the physical server during creation of the L-Server.
Note
If a LUN created beforehand is used to create a physical L-Server, specify the IP address of the OS stored in the LUN.
If an agent has already been installed in the LUN created beforehand, and the IP address of the manager has been changed, the following procedures need to be performed after creating the physical L-Server.
Initialize the file where the agent's SSL certificate data is stored.
For details, refer to "5.5 rcxadm certctl" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
Modify the IP address of the admin LAN of the manager registered in the agent.
For details, refer to "5.3 rcxadm agtctl" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
Reboot the physical L-Server.
Example
OS Information | Information for L-Server Configuration | ||
---|---|---|---|
IP address specified for network interface (configured by a tenant administrator) | Name of network interface | Number of NICs (number of NICs on the back side of rack mount servers) | IP Address |
192.168.1.1 | Local area connection 1 | 1 | 192.168.1.1 |
192.168.2.1 | Local area connection 2 | 2 | 192.168.2.1 |
OS Information | Information for L-Server Configuration | ||
---|---|---|---|
IP address specified for network interface (configured by a tenant administrator) | Name of network interface | Number of NICs (number of NICs on the back side of rack mount servers) | IP Address |
192.168.1.1 | eth0 | 1 | 192.168.1.1 |
192.168.2.1 | eth1 | 2 | 192.168.2.1 |
When not configuring a VLAN, check this checkbox.
Only one VLAN can be selected in the same NIC or NIC group.
When [Function number expansion (Onboard)] is enabled, it is necessary to allocate a network resource with [Untagged VLAN] checked for all NICs corresponding to the CNA function.
Note
[Physical Servers]
The IP address to be allocated to a physical L-Server must be unique. An IP address is required for each L-Server used.
