This section explains how to register servers when using PRIMEQUEST servers.
For the PRIMEQUEST 2000 series, the following partitions can be registered as managed servers.
PPAR partitions with Extended Partitioning Mode set to "Disable"
Extended Partitions configured on a PPAR partition with Extended Partitioning Mode set to "Enable"
Do not change Extended Partitioning Mode or PPAR Extended Partition configuration after registering the server.
If the Extended Partitioning Mode of a PPAR is changed to "Enable" after server registration, [Extended Partitioning Mode] is displayed for that PPAR, but it cannot be used as is.
If you want to change the Extended Partitioning Mode or Extended Partition configuration, delete the server from managed server on the ROR console first. Change the Extended Partitioning Mode or Extended Partition configuration and then register the server again.
Use the following procedure to register servers:
In the ROR console server resource tree, right-click an unregistered server blade or partition in the target chassis, and select [Register]-[Server] from the popup menu.
The [Register Server] dialog is displayed.
Perform the following settings:
Enter a name to assign to this physical server.
Enter a character string beginning with an alphabetical character and containing up to 15 alphanumeric characters and hyphens ("-").
Enter the IP address used by this server on the admin LAN.
Enter the IP address of this server's admin LAN network interface.
The Agent will not be registered automatically, but can be manually registered after server registration if necessary. After registering servers, register agents as required.
Specify the boot option configured from BIOS when installing the OS.
For UEFI
Select [UEFI].
For Legacy Boot
Select [Legacy boot].
By default, [UEFI] is selected.
These settings can be changed after server registration.
For details on how to modify these settings, refer to "7.1.10 Changing Boot Options".
Click the [OK] button.
The registered server will be displayed in the server resource tree.
Note
For PRIMEQUEST, after IOU replacement or immediately after powering on, the MAC Address for each partition that is obtained from the MMB becomes FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF. As correct LAN MAC addresses are obtained from the MMB after each partition is powered on, perform server registration after that.
