This section explains how to change server role settings.
Set the "Manager" server role for the VM guest on which the ROR manager is running.
This enables restriction of the following operations and functions stopped by the ROR manager, and prevents erroneous operations.

Power operations
Migration between servers
VM hosts which have been configured as a server registered to the server pool, cannot be specified as a destination VM host.

Backup and restore
Server switchover (*1)
Ping monitoring (*2)
HBA address rename setting
Deletion of servers (when using HBA address rename)
*1: Auto-recovery does not operate. Spare servers will be excluded from the switchover destination.
*2: Recovery cannot be performed even if settings have been completed.
For VM guests with the "Manager" server role, "[Manager]" is displayed after the name in the resource tree.
Use the following procedure to change settings:
In the ROR console server resource tree, right-click the target server, and select [Modify]-[Server Role] from the popup menu.
Select [Manager].
Click the [OK] button.
The settings of the server role are changed.
Or use the following procedure to change the settings from the menu bar:
In the ROR console server resource tree, select the target server, and select [Set]-[Modify]-[Server Role] from the menu bar.
Select [Manager].
Click the [OK] button.
The settings of the server role are changed.
Note
When powering off servers in the event of a power failure or something similar, write down the server name of the VM host on which the manager is running.
After power is restored, start the VM host server first and then other servers can be started from ROR.
