8.5.14 VDI Settings [Windows Manager]

This section explains how to use VDI(Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).

8.5.14.1 Enabling VDI

When deploying an L-Platform template or an L-Platform, specify whether to enable settings for desktop virtualization.
The procedure is shown below.

  1. Use the editor to open the following settings file.

    Installation_folder\RCXCTMG\MyPortal\config\managerview_config.xml
  2. Add the following keys and values:

    Key name

    Content

    enable-vdi

    true: Settings for desktop virtualization are enabled. Specification from the [Templates] tab and [L-Platforms] tab is possible.
    false: Settings for desktop virtualization are disabled. This is the same as when the key is undefined.

  3. Save the file.

  4. Restart the manager.
    Refer to "2.1 Starting and Stopping Managers" for information on how to restart the manager.

8.5.14.2 Settings for VDI User Names

When applying to use an L-Platform, specify whether to permit the applying user to specify the user for virtual desktop (VDI user).
If not permit to specify the VDI user, the user name of logging in ROR console is set to VDI user.
The procedure is shown below.

The setting which is not permitted to specify VDI users is available only if the Active Directory which is used in ROR console and the Active Directory which is used in the VDI management product is same.

  1. Use the editor to open the following settings file.

    Installation_folder\RCXCTMG\MyPortal\config\managerview_config.xml

  2. Add the following keys and values:

    Key name

    Content

    enable-vdi-user-specification

    true: Specification of VDI users when applying to use an L-Platform is permitted. This is the same as when the key is undefined.
    false: Specification of VDI users when applying to use an L-Platform is not permitted. The user name used for login to the ROR console is specified for the VDI user name.

  3. Save the file.


    If "false" is set to "enable-vdi-user-specification" in step 2, make sure to do step 4-6.

  4. Use the editor to open the following settings file.

    Installation_folder\RCXCFMG\config\vsys_config.xml
  5. Add the following keys and values:

    Key name

    Content

    vdi-user-domain-name

    The NetBIOS domain name of Active Directory domain is specified.

  6. Restart the manager.
    Refer to "2.1 Starting and Stopping Managers" for information on how to restart the manager.
