This section explains the management of images.
Image Operations
Refer to "17.5 Cloning Image Operations" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
When Maintaining Registered Images (Templates) Using VM Management Software
Resource Orchestrator checks the source files (templates) of registered images regularly.
For this reason, when the following operations are performed using VM management software on the templates registered as images, the images may be unregistered from Resource Orchestrator:
Separation of the storage on which the templates are stored from VM management software
Deletion of templates from VM management software
Conversion of templates into virtual machines using VM management software
For this reason, when operating the following items using VM management software, set image maintenance mode first:
Templates registered with Resource Orchestrator
VM hosts which manage templates
Storage on which templates are stored
For details on setting image maintenance mode, refer to "5.9 rcxadm imagemgr" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
When image maintenance mode is set, operations using Resource Orchestrator can be performed as usual.
However, operations that use images undergoing maintenance may fail.
