This section explains advisory notes when installing a VM host on a physical L-Server.
Collecting and Deploying Cloning Images
Cloning images cannot be collected or deployed.
When Using Auto Deploy to Create a VM Host
Backup and restore functions cannot be used for the created VM host.
When a VM Host is VMware vSphere 4 or Later
When installing a VMware vSphere 4 or later VM host on a physical L-Server, take note of the following points:
Backup and restore functions cannot be used.
When using L-Server redundancy, it is not possible to specify the same pool as that of a spare server between L-Servers on which Windows is operating.
When performing physical server usage change, the same physical servers cannot be switched over between L-Servers on which Windows is operating.
When switching over operating and standby storage as disks used for datastores, mount the VMFS datastores using the currently used signature on VMware vCenter Server.
When a VM Host is VMware ESXi
Alive Monitoring is not supported.
When Creating Physical Servers with Function Number Expansion Configured
When using the UMC function (function number expansion) for the onboard converged network adapter using the physical L-Server, the server cannot be registered as a VM host.
