This section explains the function for participation in the Active Directory domain.
When using Windows for a virtual L-Server, the function for participation in the Active Directory domain is available, when creating a virtual L-Server with images specified.
When using the function for participation in an Active Directory domain, perform the following procedure.
Edit an OS property definition file
Indicate the name of the Active Directory domain that will be participated in, the account name for domain participation, and the password in the OS property definition file.
For details on the OS property definition file, refer to "8.1.7 OS Property Definition File".
In addition, in order to use this function it is necessary to meet the requirements for participating in a Microsoft Active Directory domain.
For the requirements, refer to the Active Directory domain documentation from Microsoft.
Export an L-Server template
For details on how to export L-Server templates, refer to "15.2.1 Export" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
L-Server template operations (steps 2 to 4) can be performed using the GUI.
For details on how to operate L-Server templates using the GUI, refer to "15.1 Operations Using the Wizard GUI" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
Edit an L-Server Template
Specify the settings for participation in the Active Directory domain for an L-Server template.
Edit the XML definition of L-Server templates, referring to "15.2.2 Virtual L-Server Templates" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
Import an L-Server Template
For details on how to import L-Server templates, refer to "15.2.3 Import" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
To confirm overcommit settings configured for an L-Server template, execute the rcxadm template show command.
For details on the rcxadm template command, refer to "8.1 rcxadm template" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
Create an L-Server
Create an L-Server using the L-Server template created in step 4.
For details, refer to "16.1 Creation Using an L-Server Template" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE".
When not using an L-Server template, create an L-Server using a command. Edit the L-Server XML referring to "Chapter 16 Creating L-Servers" in the "User's Guide for Infrastructure Administrators (Resource Management) CE", and then execute the rcxadm lserver create command.
For details on the rcxadm lserver command, refer to "3.6 rcxadm lserver" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE".
Note
When the Active Directory domain cannot be accessed or when participation in the domain fails due to insufficiency of account authority or specification of the wrong password, the result should be either of following:
An L-Server participating in the existing work group (WORKGROUP) is created
L-Server creation processing fails due to timeout
After performing pre-verification, check if participation in the Active Directory domain can be correctly performed before using it for actual operations.
